According to the World Economic Forum, by 2050 there could be more plastic in the sea than fish. Greece is one of the worst recyclers in Europe and has been fined millions by the EU for poor waste management.

In this documentary Laurent Laughlin and Thodoris Chondrogiannos investigate how plastic waste goes from Super Market to Sea and the direct correlation this has on the plastic found in Fish and the chemicals they transmit when seafood is consumed.

In our documentary we catch three fish with the help of a local fisherman on the island of Samos. Scientists found an average of 125 pieces of micro-plastics in their digestive tracks. 

Alternative Minister for the Environment and Energy Famellos helped implement a fee on plastic bags to reduce the consumption of Plastic in Greece. Meanwhile the plastic industry is fighting the vilification of their products as business is set to grow to 1.2 trillion dollars by 2020. 

A manager at a factory said that plastic was not dangerous for animals or human beings that consume it.
